@thenewoil I only get a 403 error. Can you summarize what the article is about?

@icedquinn @inference it's not necessarily the price that matters, but the support and security. Hetzner is great for both of this while still having reasonable prices. While the best always is servers at your own location, hetzner is one of the best options for server hosting I know of.

@inference but muh lineage OS. Security is for nerds, real power users use shitty software and basically get orgasms by talking about how minimal their Arch setup is

@inference I even forgot what linux-libre actually help with. Except keeping your microcode outdated and having a bigger attack surface. The whole "philosophy over security" mentality is dangerous. In the perfect world, everything would be open source. But we live in a real world, so we have to deal with proprietary software. Unless we wamr our systems to be cracked open easier than you can crack a walnutMade even worse by "200 days uptime on my server" posts on reddit.

@koakuma @coyote no because you have the possibility to include non free software. But it is endorsed by madaidan for the amount of hardening you can easily do (like clang and musl instead of GCC and glibc).

@fsf trisquel is a distribution I can't even launch! What's the point of having a fully free OS if it can't launch due to video driver errors on a mainstream APU?Are people with a 5600G not allowed to use free software?

@inference looking forward to the redesign. But stay away from that evil and slow modern web design!

@fsf "Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. To guarantee consideration, submit your application by January 22, 2023."Funny that you're promoting this weeks after the "deadline" has ended. Is that position so undesirable that people don't apply? Or is there another reason for this being advertised over 2 weeks after your recommended submission date?

@Linux source code updates sadly don't equal flathub updates. In this case there seems to be a version from January 2022. Which I think of as a problem

@BrodieOnLinux my personal favorite npm package will always be "isNumber". There is a reason why typescript is a much nicer way to develop js code than js itself.
