@shadowfacts @phire Thanks for the pointer to Tusk.Looks nice but am I correct in my understanding that Tusker doesn't to APNS, meaning no notifications?

@cwebber Please remember that the cops still buy quadro tracker styled hoax devices. They do call them "lie detector" or "polygraph" though.

For all #mastoadmin people that are running mastodon behind nginx as a proxy. If you're having the problem that videos are not playing on iOS mobile devices, you're stumbling over some AppleCoreMedia behavior where it sends a range: bytes=0-1 header that is causing issues with the default nginx proxy configuration.Details what iOS sends is at https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/125943.The fix is to add "proxy_force_ranges on;" to the nginx config to add support for the range header.Tadaaaa: Video works.

So halbwegs.

Actions have consequences.

@ainmosni "Nobody ows you anything!"Assuming that is a valid statement, why should we owe them a narrative?Ain't nobody got time for that shit.

@ainmosni So you're saying we do owe them something? Here's another radical idea, how about we just fucking ban fashist parties. Easier done than convincing their voters that they are wrong.

Sooo. I am sitting in an ICE train in Germany. Train is - of course - delayed.Train manager comes on and does an announcement about the upcoming delays. Then he mentiones that the train is very full because a lot of air passengers have been rebooked onto the train by Lufthansa due to "a hacker attack against multiple airlines".There has been no hacker attack, the airlines are just experiencing the consequences of their actions, specifically their vendor choice (crowdstrike) and their process choices (staggered rollouts? pish pash, damn the torpedoes and full steam ahead). But now I am hearing passengers discussing why their kids online game does not work, which is certainly related to the hacker attack...I am starting to understand so much about the dark ages...🤦‍♂️

@root42 @Philsan no doubt. The claim also completely misses what the demo scene is about. As far as I remember, none of my demo scene friends ever talked about that demo coming in on time and under budget or how they could have saved millions and salaries by automating things. It was always about sitting with other humans, having some drinks and doing some cool stuff with the computer. And then - half drunk - at 3 AM having that epiphany and coming up with the ultimate hack that won them the competition.I am absolutely certain, a well trained. LLM can create a nice demo. But that’s not what it’s about.Which seems to be a common theme with LLMs actually. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Philsan @root42 oh, don’t get me wrong. . I have no doubts at all that there are people who use AI.And depending on your approach, this can be a problem because it is just unfair if somebody is “cheating” and wins a compo. But we have the same problem sports and then we call it doping and all solutions are not 100%.But when I say the article misses the point, what I I’m saying it’s not that these things don’t happen and these discussions don’t happen. You reporting on that is absolutely OK because it is part of the wider discussion. But what is in my opinion missing here is that the demo scene is way way more than just the finished demo itself. And that is where the discussion is the point because the way I see it the actual demo-code itself is not that important at the end of the day. It’s all about the friends we made on the way.Sitting at home, doing a demo with an LLM Will give you some code but again, you are missing what it is all about and that is their loss.
