Nobody asked for my opinions on #ChatGPT so here goes:- I don't think it will "replace" me (or anyone who truly understands how #techcomm works).- It will be very useful and make many jobs easier.- It will definitely be exploited in many ways for unsavory, harmful or worse purposes.- As someone said, the current version is "the world's most self-confident bullshit generator", so people with strong critical thinking, fact-checking and content editing skills will continue to be in demand.

At the end of every year, I write a thread on social media about upcoming anniversaries in the next year. The goal is just to entertain people and maybe learn something new along the way.Of course, there are MANY, many such anniversaries - I only mention a handful that I find interesting, mostly related to #tech.It's probably not an original idea, and other people probably do it better, but it's always fun for me. This week, many people talked about Kagi. And I had no idea what it is! Never heard of it, never used it. That means I'm waaay more out of the loop than I thought, having spent so much time offline.As someone with a career in tech, maybe I should be ashamed. But on the other hand... Sometimes, maybe it's actually better to miss out. So if you can't keep up with what's hot and what's cancelled, don't feel bad. It's OK to just let it all go. No one needs to have an opinion on everything.
