Family business fell in the hole in lockdown.When you start a physical location business, you know the first couple years you work for the landlord. You make no money for yourself. You cannot make yourself an employee because you cannot pay yourself.What happens when locked down?You still pay landlord every month: no relief. But you cannot earn money to pay the landlord. You cannot get the money from unemployment because you never paid yourself. You cannot get the PPP loan because you have no employees. The grants only go to established businesses who will use it to remodel rather than survive.Many small business are bootstrapped by owners foregoing a salary for 2-5 years. These people were trapped with no money for food while low-income workers were paid more than before to stay home and not work.One of the stories no one talked about.This is how to radicalize.

Still struggling.The amount of odd jobs I took on to find ways to pay the landlord and stop the inventory from being seized by court did a number on my health. It also destroyed our remaining savings.But at least we are still here and still able to work for the people who need us. That’s already a blessing.I try to think of it as three lost years, and if we keep working another three we may be where we should be today.

Claire's Star is the good study in what happens when angles are too high and too low.This stone has very poor light return. You caught my last day on this account. Deleting the domain and moving to @istvan Price looks right for mass produced silicon carbide + silver. Just remember it has literally no value in the absolute sense or the aesthetic sense. It’s $1.25 silver and $15 stone - probably done on a CNC cutter with a lot of flaws in the cut.Moissanite is less hard than diamond but much tougher. It has a lower refractive index and higher dispersion. Sparkly has everything to do with the cut: fire comes from material itself splitting light.My personal opinion? I would never propose to a girl with this.It’s not because it’s cheap but because it shows I put no thought into it.I look at engagement rings as the test of whether a couple’s aesthetics match and how much effort the man wants to put up for the relationship.It’s not about the materials but the thought. Did he consider any metal allergies, what colors she usually wears, anything with any special meaning to her, a design that reflects things they both love or at least their taste, etc.It doesn’t need to be diamond or gold. It just needs to show he put some thought and care into it and that doesn’t have 200,000 copies floating around.

The code is simple to edit, it’s easy to build, and it has better support for mastodon api than snac2 so I can use existing software.Pleroma and Mastodon are overkill for a five user instance and a nightmare to try and read or track down bugs.If the only other software option is developed by hugbox people, don’t really care. You don’t have to subscribe to blocklist’s to use it.

Agree. I compiled it. Super easy. Well written.API is barely there and I’m not looking to take on a pet project of writing my own Fediverse software on someone else’s the frame.If I have to pick the software to use, it’s going to be something directionally accurate with a couple developers, many users, and written in a language where I have enough familiarity to fix the bugs without feeling like I need to build all the features I need.
