@clive Amazing! I wonder if there could be some kind of watermarking (maybe not for text) that included a seed number and the model used or something. Anyways I’m sure smarter people are thinking about this.

@clive Yes, it was striking, but a) I hated the round hockey puck mice and b) they weren't super powerful. OK bad analogy. I just feel like Apple won't sit idly by while its AI assistant lunch gets eaten by OpenAI. They're also watching Google flail.

@clive I'm sure what's keeping them from putting something out is worries about security. If you're operating on mostly client-side data that you promise is private, think of how hard it'll be to test and make sure insanely horrible things you never thought about are not happening or being enabled by Siri.

@clive I had the same exact thought and have both Airpods and the $25 JLab earbuds for the same reason. The only problem is your iPhone can’t play to both at the same time when, say, your son takes a pair and you want to co-play.

@clive I had a beat up old chef’s knife that I absolutely loved. It wasn’t top notch but it had the right balance and weight and I didn’t feel bad beating it up. And then the handle broke. I got a new fancy knife, but it’s TOO nice and I don’t want to scuff it up.So I end up using the crappy old broken one more, even though it’s falling apart.There needs to be a term for this.
