       Just an FYI for folks transitioning in tech:You can commit a .mailmap to any repository that you have commits in that tells it to rewrite any historical references to your deadname. It'll still technically exist but it'll no longer show up in day-to-day normal usage of the repo. (I... dunno what this does w/ github. Probably nothing but it at least saves you from having to stare at your deadname on your own computer.)
