There's a browser fingerprinting study run by the CS faculty at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Nürnberg. If you sign up, they send you a link once a week then run device ID scripts, and play it all back to you. Fascinating and slightly disturbing. And it's #science https://browser-fingerprint.cs.fau.de/@sil

Embargoes can reflect a pre-ordained publication date of, for instance, a report. A committee might be asked to publish a report by 1 September. So they schedule publication – physical and/or digital – for, say, 8am that day. They want/need the press to know the gist of it in advance, so they can prepare their reports. But they *don't* want the full report 'leaked' beforehand. There's no lawful enforcement of any of this, at least in the UK. It's ... an understanding, old boy.@futurebird

The only tea I drink is lemongrass. Made with fresh lemongrass. It reminds me of Taveuni. @futurebird @spacegeck @MolluskGoneBad

Make your own gravy. It will be much better. All you need is some chicken stock, wine, and a little #GlutenFree flour. It's a doddle. And you just do it while the bird is resting.@Ricardus

Ah, well, couple of suggestions that might be helpful. 1. Judicious use of foil to moderate evaporation 2. Every 30 mins or so, just scoop any useful looking stuff out of the tray with a ladle or spoonBonne chance!@Ricardus

Right now, the carbon intensity of electricity generation in the North of Scotland is, or close to, zero.Elsewhere in the UK, it's up to 333g CO2/kWhYet people in the north of Scotland – especially on the islands – pay more for electricity than those in the south. That is *totally* fucked up, and we need to fundamentally re-imagine our energy "markets" (as if such a thing even actually exists).#ClimateDiary #EnergyTransition #zerocarbon

It's subtler than that, I think."Gang" is still in common usage in Scots to mean 'go' or 'travel' – think of the lyrics of Wild Mountain Thyme. It was still used in that sense in English until the 17th or 18th century – and is still present in modern German, in Eingang and Ausgang. But it was, esssentially, a verb.@futurebird @cdarwin

That would be feasible for me, but for the overwhelming majority of people it’s just not an option. In much the same way that it would be preferable if everyone balked their own bread. It just ain’t gonna happen. @tyil
