I don't consider myself a mathy person so I'm very pleased at working out what feels like an ideal placement system for the jumpers in this 360 tour player. They're stapled to a ring around your feet at a set distance so the only position specified is offset from right in front of you. Ta-da, polar coordinates. And now I'm endlessly rubberducking everybody about it. (during implementation I discovered that n is called theta and degrees are nicer than radians for guesstimates)dork's poorly-drawn rediscovery…

and the great thing is it actually works! They always face you, too, which just uses their own negative theta, and now we can click around and explore this tiny tour, which is generated from a pile of json I hand-typed. @espectalll @ilovecomputers Is this an ARM-based Surface? How's the touchscreen experience on your DE of choice? I had a salvaged RT way back when church was first trying to jailbreak it and get Linux on there and never got around to trying it out.

@espectalll @ilovecomputers That sounds neat! I recently switched to GNOME on everything and I've been wondering what the touch experience is like, thinking about the Librem. Glad we've got a comfy foss stack for touch devices.

The fridge and freezer broke, so my little brother's snowman, which he keeps in a small plastic bag in the freezer, melted. His little eyes and nose are floating sadly in the bag. (The snowman's, not my brother's.) Currently devising means to reconstitute him, potentially with snowcone machine
