@kev I use an ~8 year old i7 (2nd gen) Packard Bell with upgraded RAM and ssd as kind of a desktop with an extra 27" monitor.Still works fine with any distro and any of my use cases from web browsing to some video editing. No gaming though.Even though I was a long time "most people only need a laptop" advocate, I think, right now, I would appreciate a dedicated "small form factor" desktop unit plus some adequate mobile device (laptop or tablet depending on specific needs).

Don't know if it will work.Atom (code editor) => not in pacman, but in AUR. Don't know if it will work.Filezilla (FTP) => yes, available in official repo (community)

@markosaric @freddy This is normal standard... unfortunately.Companies write press releases, give them to newspapers, etc. (sometimes upfront under non disclosure agreement) and the press re-uses more or less of it.Given the 'unlimited digital pages' to publish without any limitation of actual pages everything is published. There is probably less critical selection nowadays. Plus pressure to be among the first reporting something...you can paint the picture, I guess.

@wizzwizz4 @silkevicious Sure, that would be a suitable option for regular contacts, but I need a replacement for the phone book quality of Facebook.You know people. You haven't talked in years. For whatever reason, you want to contact that person. Might just be because you visit their country again after some years...So... unfortunately...it is a slightly different use case 😅

@thumb If you are a bit into DIY, you could use the stable (metal) base of some durable office chair and mount a car seat on it (e.g. vintage or tuning). 😎Did that couple of years back when I built a game seat and got two seats for a great price. Still using the office chair every day. 😊
