       @UROCKlive1 cutting the VA’s funding and then saying you “support our troops” is such duplicitous bullshit it’s unbelievable. I’ve worked with folks from the VA and they are incredibly kind, clever folks who are ridiculously underfunded.

       @clive bought an electric cargo bike earlier this year and have absolutely loved it. Turned something like 60% of my car miles into bike miles.

       @clive yeah. It’s great for groceries, for kid school dropoff/pickup, errands, visiting folks. The assist makes it variable from “exercise” to “not exercise”. Parking is trivial, so ducking in to busy places is super fast.It makes the amount of space & primacy we devote to cars feel obscene though. And I’m a “car guy”. Cars as an enthusiast thing would be more sustainable if utility were shifted to e-bikes. Move parking to the edges of town. Bike to car. Reclaim city streets for humans.

       Inflation is because companies reaped huge profits for the 1%. Layoffs have been so that stock price rises for the 1%. There isn’t an economic downturn. It’s capitalism run amok. I don’t know when it’ll happen, but my guess is that guillotines will be a growth industry in the relatively near term.
