       I hate that as an Actual Adult I constantly find myself with more stuff to do than hours in a day and having to pick and choose what to do and usually what I end up asking myself is, ok but whose feelings are important here? (MINE) and changing the plan. Believe it or not I struggle to put myself first, like most other women. Society is just too brutal these days though, you can’t do it any other way and survive without idk a massive trust fund or something

       holy cow Allstate raised my car insurance on a super basic Mazda 6 to $3400 a year. I could take a freaking month long trip to Europe for that. Cancelled faster than you can say “where’s that stupid lizard from all the ads” (they came in at about $2000 which is still insane compared to before covid, but I cannot just take these like 50-100% price increases on literally every basic service every year forever!!!)

       Anybody have good recommendations for a gaming laptop (for development work)? After about a 10-year run with mostly Macs I&#39;ve just gotten super frustrated with the lack of support everywhere for the Apple Silicon and random issues with installing packages and want to set up a dual boot system. But I&#39;d like to get it right and not end up with another workstation that only does half of what I need it to do.

       I think it&#39;s funny how many zillions of dollars are spent on athlete training and all kinds of crazy pseudoscience &quot;oh he only eats raw fish for breakfast and trains 30 hours a day at the only gym with a robot exoskeleton that uses AI to move his arms the way Tiger Woods does&quot; and then sometimes, a team still just absolutely chokes. 0.        my pettiest complaint about the world is that none of the trendy sneakers of the past couple of years, the adidas sambas, or anything similar, really fits my foot... my feet are shaped about like a duck&#39;s. they are super narrow in the back and really wide almost like a webbed foot in the front. great for swimming, skiing, running, and generally goofing around. a nightmare for finding sleek, trendy shoes.

       @nicholas omg, I did not know about these. I have to get some I have basically just been wandering around in plastic flip flops since I got laid off, and now it seems like I might go back to WFH. The appeal of the flip flops is waning though I had some much nicer Ugg house shoes before I moved out here.

       the burning e-bike or e-scooter is the perfect symbol for our toxic age - imported from china- on fire - subsidized in like 20 ways and still too expensive - rider talking about climate change but just doesn’t have a car because the economy is now a giant Ponzi scheme - burned remains moved to a landfill after 6 months of being marked out for repairs - some startup CEO got a big fat check for this- whoever paid for it is still broke - meaningfully drives healthcare costs up as a bonus
