@foone I vaguely remember Microsoft Research working on something like that a decade or two ago—a camera you wore around your neck that would take a photo every five seconds or so, designed as an aid for those with short term memory difficulties

@mcc @foone That reminds me of this GitHub issue: https://github.com/rossy/img2xterm/issues/7Honestly, all they had to do was acknowledge Cirno as the strongest in Gensokyo and they would have had permission to relicense under any terms that met their bureaucratic requirements.

@foone I remember poking around my file system back when I was a kid with a Windows 3.11 machine and seeing strings saying “32-bit word machine”, and getting confused because my computer didn’t come with Word, only Works 3.0.

@foone I remember that being a problem with many (potentially InstallShield-based?) installers when 64-bit OSes started to become a thing. Everything is fine apart from the first stage of the installer, so you can’t install it, so you can’t actually use it.

@nina_kali_nina It’s amazing how standards of repairability have changed over time. Laptops have always been considered less repairable than desktops, yet this has a socketed CPU and my 2015 iMac gets an iFixit score of 1/10 because of soldered RAM and glued screen. (Meanwhile newer devices get 7/10 because they reversed some of the even more restrictive decisions Apple implemented in the mean time)

@foone I believe GNU Parallel can do this quite effectively if you have passwordless SSH set up to each of the workers, so long as each worker has a compatible software environment.
