@KopfKriegWenn ich mal nur von mir ausgehe: ich "fave", weil ich den Toot schneller über meine Favoriten wieder finden möchte. Hat nur bedingt was mit "like" zu tun. Wenn mir was gefällt, dann booste ich eher.

I've been an user of the #opera browser for ages and even sticked with it when they were switching to #chromium, but not letting me set my favorite #searchengine is a #nogo. Playing around with #Firefox at the moment...any other suggestions of a non-chromium based #browser which supports ad block extensions and honors privacy (as far as that is possible nowadays...)?

@lychee thank you for your comment. I know #vivaldi, but i would go for a #nochromium-browser in the first step. Gonna stick with #firefox the next weeks and see, how comfortable i can get with it.

@ConnyDuck @gaab @purism Why should anyone interested in free/libre software and a web of diversity opting for "centralized" services run by a single company instead of grabbing the "original"? (I know the answer - its just for the sake of comfort...) To me this has a strong taste of "googling" free software together and bind the users to the services of @Purism. Till now i was not really interested in @Purism, now i'm sure i will avoid their products.

@tobias @yunohost ich hatte yunohost vor einiger Zeit mal getestet und fand die Einflussmöglichkeiten auf die Konfiguration sehr überschaubar um nicht zu sagen: nicht vorhanden. Z.B. der Nextcloud-Installation zu sagen wo die Daten liegen sollen. Ist das immer noch so?Alternativen sind @freedomboxfndn oder @cloudron - wers mehr mit Technik hat sollte m.E. eher auf #OpenMediaVault oder gleich #webmin gehen...

@tobias Dann ist @freedomboxfndn wohl immer noch nix für mich. Wenn ich dem Ding meine Daten anvertrauen soll, möchte ich wissen wo die liegen, wie ich da hinkomme, wie ich ein Backup mache. Allein bei einem System mit mehreren Platten/Partitionen die richtige auswählen zu können wäre mir schon wichtig. ;)

@masklayer I'm pretty happy with the jpegs my #GRII produces plus there plenty of variants you can configure. But you definitely need to bump the exposure compensation a bit. ;)

@tobiasMir ist etwas schleierhaft warum jetzt von verschiedenen Seiten über @Gargron gemeckert wird und woher die Erwartungshaltung kommt, er müsse auf das Issue anworten oder irgendwas implementieren. Er kann, von "müssen" sind wir aber zum Glück weit entfernt.Wenn euch das aktuelle Mastodon nicht passt, dann entwickelt ein eigenes Projekt oder forkt es und entwickelt es selbst weiter.Wenn hier dann alles mit "Rich-Text" zugekleistert ist, werde ich mir auf jeden Fall was neues suchen...

@tobias Ah ok, verstehe. Kam bei mir tatsächlich anders an. Danke für die Klarstellung.Ich bin ja generell ein Freund von eher simpel gehaltenen Diensten. Das Web ist an vielen Stellen so aufgebläht und überladen, da tut etwas Reduktion aufs Wesentliche gut.Da muss ich grad an das gute alte "Turtleboard" denken, dort gabs noch nicht mal Bild-Smilies (von Emojis ganz zu schweigen)...
