@shpuld I had hoped the GNU Social AP plugin would have been ready before any major Mastodon instance switched.       Pleroma does not slot well in my existing servers; it's an atypical stack and I'm finding trying to install it very finicky and prone to breaking (at least, on Centos 7). This is why I was waiting for an opportunity to rebuild most of my home server architecture to make the switch.

@opal @moonman This is too much to expect of people who don't get excited about technology, unfortunately.

@moonman Indeed. I don't want app stores to make moral or political decisions for me thank you very much.

@opal I dunno, but the GNU Social one's worked well for me.

@dwaltiz I had hoped to wait until I was redoing my server architecture, when I updated storage, but a server that has users I really, really care about updated to the Mastodon version that dropped ostatus support, so my hand's being forced here.

Is anyone aware of any issue with #Pleroma on Debian Buster?

Why does my pleroma instance defaults to ostatus to subscribe to mastodon instances?

I thought Pleroma was supposed to work? I still can't subscribe to anyone from niu from my new Pleroma instance!

Can anyone on pleroma try following a niu.moe account (for instance, my backup account guizzy@niu.moe ) ?

@shpuld Is that so? Did you use an app or anything of the sort? I get a generic error 500 when I try to do it. But for niu.moe only, not for any other server. As they're the only ones I know of that updated to the latest Mastodon version, I would have thought it could be related to the removal of ostatus support, since the link Pleroma takes for subscriptions (on my server) is /ostatus_subscribe?acct=guizzy%40niu.moe

@shpuld Seems so. Maybe it needs to know some people on the server to find the names? I'm not able to find anyone on remote servers by searching yet.

@shpuld Ok, yes, I'm able to follow people whose profiles have been named on my instance. But can you try following someone clicking "Remote Follow" from the Mastodon profile?

@opal I'm pretty much forced to ditch GNU Social; niu.moe switched to the version of Mastodon that dropped ostatus support.
