@SuperDicq the vapor chamber thing is ridiculous, how did they miss such a glaring issue is beyond me. I think I’ll aim for a used 3080 ti for my next build.

@charlotte @SuperDicq yeah this ties in perfectly with the fact that NVIDIA (idk about other vendors) is moving many firmware functionalities in hardware controllers, we'll have less and less control over time

@SuperDicq I think it was for some time, then they moved to an abstract kinda one. Rippy was a CD for sure :-)I’m on RED as well! Sadly they don’t have a merch store like what did. I had the WCD sticker drawn in the style of the MTV logo. Good times :’)

@craftyguy @martijnbraam I wonder if the SoC choice for Librem 5 has been miscalculated. I can see an iMX8 working well in a laptop like device, but a phone… not so much. I wonder if modern chips are better, something like the latest Rockchip.

@cynicalsecurity I'll be that guy and say: a M1 Macbook Air? OpenBSD 7.1 should at least output to efifb on such machine, and wifi should work as well - which IMO, is the bare minimum for a usable laptop.Otherwise on the Intel land (sigh) I would suggest a Thinkpad X260, which can be found with 1080p screens at reasonable prices.
