I've been a Spotify user for a few years now. I got an email from Spotify informing me of a price rise so I decided to ditch the service and go back to a non-streamed collection. I started to get a bit bored of having all the music I could want available all the time. I found I wasn't appreciating the music as much as I didn't have to put any effort into researching/buying the CD or album. Has any body else gone "backwards" like this?

@kev I agree that it is value for money. It was more that the price increase drew my attention to music streaming in general as opposed to being too expensive. I think it's the delayed gratitude of waiting for a CD to listen to an album.Although, music streaming does make it very easy to find new bands...

@kevI made the switch from W10 to Ubuntu whilst learning C at uni. The compilers etc on linux are far easier to use than the MS stuff. I'm now on Arcolinux and have to use W10 to access lectures on Webex (don't...just don't) and although I don't hate it, I just get an urge to boot back into Linux. I find W10 bloated and slow. The update system is infuriating. I've missed lectures while windows restarts and updates.I will never use W10 as my main OS all the time I can run Linux.

@metaluneI thought about MP3 players when I was looking to get a dumb phone. I have decided to keep the smartphone simply because there are some apps that I use everyday and can't really do without anymore.

@metaluneI know it sounds lame but car parking, or rather paying for carparking. I hardly ever have change in my pocket and the card readers are nearly always out of service. Also 2FA is something I hadn't thought about.

@metaluneI've stopped streaming music and now buy used CDs from charity shops and car boots. I bought 9 yesterday! I rip them into FLACs and the put the CDs in the loft. I do buy the odd album digitally as well.

@xpilTrust me, nothing would give me more satisfaction that seeing Linux go mainstream. It would make the likes of MS have to up their game. However, I don't think it will. Its too good to go mainstream. The people who use, develop and care about it won't want to see it torn apart by the capitalist money machine.
