@Teri_Kanefield: It sounds like it helps build the bigger cases if the prosecutors can convict him on smaller crimes that collectively add up to the big stuff. They've been building their cases from the ground up straight along, and convictions are better than the dismissals we've seen in the myriad frivolous election fraud cases that team Trump has brought (although those frivolous dismissed cases have caused the lawyers who brought them some well-deserved grief).

@Teri_Kanefield: This is why I really don't like the Post.News model.

@Teri_Kanefield: But can Fox News legally call themselves press when their terms of use specifically claim that they are entertainers and their material is solely for personal enjoyment and entertainment? That's not press. That's bad comedy perhaps, but certainly not press. From the top of paragraph three: "Company furnishes the Company Sites and the Company Services for your personal enjoyment and entertainment."https://www.foxnews.com/terms-of-use

Teri Kanefield's post this week is another excellent one (as usual). It's also an important read to help understand the chaotic response we are seeing from the extremists to Trump's indictment.https://terikanefield.com/there-is-a-method-to-the-madness-along-with-actual-madness/Thank you, @Teri_Kanefield!#GOPMadness #TrumpIndictment

@Teri_Kanefield: Maybe not stupid, but it will be interesting to see when and how he steps over the line and does something criminal that brings further restrictions such as relinquishing his passport, confinement, fines, etc., or spawns entirely new indictments on top of the ones he's already under. He's pretty good at making threats that his supporters react to but give him "plausible deniability" that he wasn't making a direct threat even when he was. He's got that mob boss thing down, but he's also really pissing off the government which will bite him at trial. It'll be interesting to see how the rulings go when there could be leniency but doesn't have to be, he's pretty much quashed any favor there.

@itnewsbot: I have yet to understand why so many people want to bring back infectious diseases that we had mostly eradicated. The anti-vax craze puts everyone at risk as it gives the disease organisms more hosts through which to mutate and evade protections.

@Teri_Kanefield @va2lam @philip_cardella: Hmm. If the only situation in which the paradox applies is to tolerate intolerance, then it seems that the answer must be that the limit of tolerance is that level of acceptance. I recall discussions with my ex-husband and my mother many years ago where he complained that my mother and I were intolerant of intolerance. I never realized there was an articulated philosophical paradox associated with that though.

Thanks, @jaykuo, for another important and clarifying post. Trump is the same person he has always been. He's a mob boss. His whole value system is based on revenge, privilege, and the pursuit of power for himself. We tried to warn people in 2016, but their hatred of Hillary Clinton and "the other" was stronger than their common sense. We warned them again in 2020, and voters responded. We are at the same crossroads again, and we have to make sure that Trump never comes near any public office ever again, and that we give the Biden administration another term to continue building back the middle class and working for all Americans. We have to ensure that Trump is held fully accountable for his crimes. The Manhattan verdicts, both civil and criminal, are only the beginning. https://statuskuo.substack.com/p/i-love-getting-even#VoteBlue #SaveDemocracy

@lolgop: That's only part of it. Yes, they want a dictator to enact their dreams by edict, but they also want the hate he embodies. He makes it OK to hate everyone they deem unworthy, which is anybody who isn't a rich, straight, christian, white male. They want to oppress everyone else. 'Tis a pity that we all have to be destroyed before their chosen dictator comes after them after them too because he will. He thrives on having an enemy to hate.
