       This post seems to have hit a nerve, getting more traffic than my little blog has seen in years. Most of it seems to be coming from Hacker News, which is definitely NOT my crowd, along with a couple of troll comments I can cheerfully mark as spam and move on. Blogs FTW!

       @futurebird I think Flipboard's work in getting a lot of mainstream (traditional and digital) media outlets federated here has notably increased the news signal over the past six months. It's not quite breaking news territory yet, but it's significantly collapsed the lag time — for better and worse.
