@briar - Not nativly working on tails (i know that there are ways to install but it's difficult fo tech noobs to do and thats important in my use case)- Really limited linux client (i know its still in Beta)- Still no mailbox server (makes it impossible to use for my use case)- No multi client suport (would be nice to have to work on tails and on a dedicated secure device at the same time)

@briar Briar GTK is dead? Really like that there is a fully featured client but i loved the idea of having a native GTK app.

@PINE64 when do we get the spare parts for the PP Pro? And are there any plans to improve the screen stability?

@rafaelmardojai @tbernard yeah thats so cool, another interesting project is speech note (on flathub) also has offline translation, but to complicated for many tbh. Having Dialect local first is amazing im looking for a good gtk local first translator for years <3

@Radical_EgoCom @peterkal I'm not a big fan of Stalin and he did some really dumb stuff but it makes me happy to read this from your account. He was pragmatic and that was also his problem but Trotsky was and Trotskyism nowadays is just a disruptor and servers the bourgeoisie in essence. What i don't understand is why you still often repost stuff of the legalists IMT.

@admin @fpianz @markigra M series macs as but also technically on the ryzen chips as-well if you can allocate enough vram (that's the gist of this whole discussion)

@admin @fpianz @markigra would also be interesting to know how much vram you are capable of allocating.

@boogerly @thomas_klopf #reticulum lets you integrate whatever technologies you want it to interface with:Data radios, modems, LoRa radios, serial lines, AX.25 TNCs, amateur radio digital modes, WiFi and Ethernet devices. Much more secure protocol than #meshtastic and has lots of potential. Currently there is no stand-alone firmware for micro controllers means the so called Rnodes have to be connected to a smartphone or computer. I would love to see a stand-alone firmware for devices like the t-deck, this would open up so many interesting usecases. https://reticulum.network/hardware.html

@oh8hub @boogerly @thomas_klopf Lora is an internationa standart and most countires allow encrytion for IOT applications on that permited lora bands as long as it is not unintelligible what the packages are and thats not the case with lora. Meshtastic also uses encrytion and I have never heard of a single person world wide to get in trouble for it. LoraWAN on the same frequenceis is commercally used world wide as well, no licence rquired and this is encrypted as well. It is a common missinterpretation that encrytpiton is generally permmited on Lora bands.for example:11(2)(b) of the UK Amateur license Terms, conditions and limitations;“Messages sent from the station shall not be encrypted for the purposes of rendering the Message unintelligible to other radio spectrum users”https://stuartsprojects.github.io/2020/03/09/can-uk-radio-amateurs-use-LoRa.html

@oh8hub @boogerly @thomas_klopf Did some research and I'm sorry to tell you but I think the confusion is on your side:Using LORA that as part of the SRD860, is NOT the same as using encrypted messages on amateur radio bands.Don’t conflate amateur radio with LoRa in ISM bands they are completely different regulatory domains. In most applications it’s a global standard for low-power, wide-area networks (LPWAN), used in IoT, smart cities, agriculture, logistics, and mesh networking. LoRa operates in unlicensed ISM bands (e.g., 868 MHz in Europe, 915 MHz in the US, 433 MHz in Asia), not amateur radio bands, unless you intentionally use it for amateur ham purposes it has nothing to do with the laws around ham radio.Creating a Low-power wide-area network on SRD860 is legally something different than transmitting with a ham. The European Telecommunications Standards Institute permits and even encourages the use of encryption on those LPWAN networks. The standards was designed for IOT applications and for applications like this encryption is kinda key to mitigate many threads.https://www.etsi.org/deliver/etsi_tr/103500_103599/103526/01.01.01_60/tr_103526v010101p.pdf#lora #meshtasitc #reticulum #IoT #Privacy #OpenSource #EU #868MHz #Encryption #ham #hamradio
