@joel They are linesBecause once upon a time they made us write them out on boards to say we won't do something.I apologize you missed the point.

@joel It didn't make sense to you.But given the context, the post makes perfect sense. I am political on almost every other social media I have lol. Hard not to be vocal with everything going on.The thing is I'm not making these posts for others. I do it for me 👍

@joel I'm indifferent to if others see it. But I post into the ether for me. I have since the blog days before all of this.I don't think bad of you but you seem very convinced I need to make my post go away because you can't cope with it. It's a little bizarre.

I never tell people how much I know when I first meet them.. Sometimes I will even pretend I don't know things..Why?Because it's my best undetected way to detect untrustworthy people within a few days/weeks of meeting them. They pretend they know more, I pretend to know less

@kev I didn't say act dumbI said "I never tell people how much I know when I first meet them.. Sometimes I will even pretend I don't know things.."I won't tell them how much I know about computers, or cars, or get too in-depth with my science and engineering knowledge. I learn while most watch NetflixI do it because people most are dishonest liars who cause issues quickly? I like to know who to trust. As I said....You should assume less....

I really want an old chrome book to mess around with. I have had so little experience with them and am far more interested in them for my use case.I'd like to really see what one could do... Outside of the usual expected things.

@fatboy I'd love to do what Linus Sebastian's team gets to do.. and mess with all of those devices to see what they could do.Mind you, may not be so fun when it isn't a hobby... idk lol

@urusan I usually use a dish or container with a lid. With plastic containers, although I don't do that now, I would crack the lid a little bit with the glass ones it doesn't matter.Without a covering, the food gets gross and dry.

So basically #Arch automates package compiling?

@nicemicro yay would be what I am referring toFIguring it all out to make OBS work properly. It being annoying is why I stayed with Ubuntu, but I have a little time and Ubuntu Mate is rough these days...

@nicemicro OBS on Ubuntu was a quick install. Plugins are simple packages usually officially supported. With Arch I rely more on the community to throw things together that I can compile. So it took me a while but OBS is now better on Arch than Ubuntu. It is missing the stats window but I can live without it. It feels about as high maintenance as any Windows PC I have had, realistically.

@nicemicro I find the difference with Linux in general is I can set it up and mostly forget it once it's running. Mostly...Just about any problem with it can be sorted, usually, it's just some small change your distribution made that is causing it. So you can just change it. It's easier to repair, once you understand it. Like a german car.

@nicemicro Microsoft reformatted my SSD so many times they literally killed it a few years before I should have had any issues lolWindows isn't any betterUbuntu Mate also had desktop issues which is why I switched. If you aren't able to figure those things out you really shouldn't be on Arch to begin with. It sort of filters those people out immediately with the difficulty.

I'm still kind of surprised how easy the transition to Linux has been.Usually, if it doesn't run on Linux, I can do without it. If I need windows for testing something I have my kids computer to run it on temporarily. For me it's just #Arch and #freebsd now

@brandon I tried on my Freebsd server.. and vm-bhyve didn't play nice.I'm sure I could sort it out but for what it's worth I'm not really interested in running the desktop version for server purposes and I don't have windows server. I can get away with wine with stuff like that too :)Any thing I might need it for would require an install as it would be for gaming. :)

@brandon I just need it for running a couple of game server that don't have a linux client. I didn't feel like messing around with Wine, but ultimately it's going to be easier than getting windows to run on my server to run the game server.I don't need it for desktop use. Steam has mostly solved this.

@stux Wait until you learn how far away it can hear us from.I used them as microphones to record my landlord.. One in the middle of the apartment can pick up most voices in the apartment.
