@fsf I taught an Intro to #Unix class in the 90s. The day we covered survival #vi and #emacs I taught them to represent their preferred editor by flashing gang signs at each other in the hallwayvi - arms crossed in front, left hand two fingers makes V, right hand Iemacs - right hand up, rotated 90deg CCW, three fingers out for EHilarity ensued, and onlookers were srsly confused

I don't believe #ACAB. Did we /ask/ you how dishwashers work or did you ascertain 1) it was interesting and 2) it might be helpful to someone? Please apply that same criteria to folks that offer help/knowledge, even if you don't need it.

@gwfoto Last time I was in #Idaho there was reception on three radio stations: one was a psychotic-sounding preacher and the other two stations were broadcasting the same Rush Limbaugh show. Pretty geography, but man that place felt like incipient violence.

@grammargirl I had a corporate client email me repeatedly and with increasing agitation about a sentence on a webpage that needed an "explanation mark". I kept asking questions -- did he want a footnote? endnote? parenthetical explanation? asterisk? What, for the love of all that is holy, is an explanation mark? What needed to be explained?Turns out he wanted an exclamation point at the end of the sentence.
