@yogthos the US failures to save our own citizens in Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina or in Puerto Rico during Hurricane Fiona, the US slaughter or civilians in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria, the US imprisonment of immigrant toddlers separate from their parents - these got some coverage.If the government directly ran the media, would they get any coverage? Does the Chinese government ever admit mistakes?

@clacke In the US passenger diesel vehicles are rare. The cheapest new gasoline (petrol) vehicles are about 17kUSD, and those are uncommon. Most other vehicle start in the 20-25kUSD range.But there are plenty of electric options to compete with Tesla that are the same price or cheaper.

That doesn't just hurt US innovation, it accelerates competing innovators.Trump is hell bent on speeding the collapse of the American empire. There is no middle ground to seek to appeal to those voters.The way to win is to appeal to the colossal base of Americans that want lower housing costs, lower medical costs, and higher minimum wage.But almost all Democrats at the national level would quite literally rather lose than fight for any of those things. Sanders, AOC, Ilhan Omar - outliers.Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Joe Biden, John Fetterman, Cory Booker would all rather see Trump in office than AOC. That's where we are.
