@Dorothy I have also understood (and seen posted around) that baraag accepts art in also other forms, like written stories as well. Fanfictions of "problematic" content as of now have a home on Ao3, but the places where you can promote and share them are getting fewer and fewer. Baraag is also great for being horny on main (RIP tumblr), and I've had the pleasure of engaging in several interesting metas on here. An all around great instance, no matter what the haters say.

@Dorothy Even having a place where you can go "Hey, I wrote this thing - link- if you're interested!" is becoming something not to take for granted, and mastodon's standard theme makes longer posts impossible anyway (I know of other instances where the character limit is stretched a lot, and scrolling through 3 miles of text on a thin column is not a great experience). I know of other places that write very short bits that fit mastodon's character limit, which is interesting but off topic lol

The way I scrambled to TS4 to get a screenshot with an elephant plant which I then very violently colorized was way less than dignified, but hey, it's #LinneaDay and I had to act fast. @chronic I'd say my general "age of consent" tag ( https://fiction-is-not-reality.dreamwidth.org/tag/age+of+consent ) has more elaboration on this topic, especially since the post that was linked is 3 years old. I think the more recent posts could also be a good read. @KayFaraday I'd ask you back what you think of Sambia's rite of passage. Or more in general: anthropology is /full/ of these reports. Even Kinsey's work was full of this, and it applied to modern America.(follows in the next toot)

@KayFaraday I'd be careful about extending the label "MAP" outside US bounds without squinting more than a bit. "MAP" was cemented in a US context, with US AoC in mind. It's not automatic that an adult in Europe, naturalized to the notion that 14 and 15yo can legally consent to sex where they live, would even categorize themselves with a label that separates them from the norm. "most hebe/ephebophiles offend 'cause it's legal where they live" has only semantic sense from an outsider's POV

@comrade_lecter @KayFaraday "Some", precisely.My point was simply that assuming "MAP" is a meaningful label to use globally when it applies to cultural contexts where it doesn't fit as easily as in the US (or other places where it fits how society categorizes age gap & inter-generational relationships) can lead to skewed frameworks. Especially because it's heavily connotated, both when the in-group and the out-group uses it, so the colloquial use of it is (still) not simply descriptive.

@comrade_lecter That was never in doubt, and also a point I was assuming as background while I commented on Kay's quote. I.e. A good chunk of Europeans would laugh histerically at the notion that being sexually active with teenagers above the AoC makes them MAPs (=category separated from "normative" attraction). The same demographic that many US antis already call child molesters protected by local law. My toot wasn't aimed at excluding people from identifying with the label/community

Was watching Plumbella's video about the OMGWTFBBQ mod (nostalgia) and how other famous youtubers posted their own reaction to the TS4 version, and I'm just here like: love that for them and everyone else, really, but the fact that cooking and eating babies and toddlers created a cult status for the mod, but god forbid you kiss them and show them a good time is endlessly curious to me. #thesims4 #thesims

@tox Especially with how just a few months ago there was a whole uproar over the ATF children mod. And before that it was CN's mod that included bestiality and rape. But Sacrificial's Extreme Violence and ND's cannibalism mods are great and edgy. :blobwaitaminute: /sighs/ Still happy that OMGWTFBBQ got updated for TS4 too. Deserved :blobcoffee:

@Octoppoi @NotGHR Subscribestar added to their TOS a whole page of prohibited content this year which includes anything obscene. While regular nsfw could pass, anything resembling loli/shota likely wouldn't. Especially because they're working directly with the banks, and that's the main problem.

@Octoppoi @NotGHR While they cover CP with point 4 of the prohibited content page, it's point 2 that is problematic "Lewd, filthy, or disgusting words or pictures" (which addresses obscenity, which cannot be avoided/prevented because neither the user nor the site can define an obscene image, so the site usually plays it safe). With a vague TOS like that, even if the site doesn't enforce it on its own, an account could still be reported
