       @john @katedegerdon not sure if this is the case with other IaaS providers, but #GCP only charges for egress. So hosts living within GCP wouldn’t see an increase in network costs as a result of inbound activity from Tumblr.That said, I’ve not yet set up my own server, so I have no idea what kind of compute/storage ramifications there might be. I’d love to see a breakdown of a server’s project costs of anybody felt like sharing what it looks like to host a server and a DB.

       #Today...has been peculiar. This year, I made a commitment to get a massage every two weeks. Today, about half an hour before I was supposed to leave for the massage, I realized that the last two weeks left me so friggin GRUMPY that the last thing I wanted was for someone to touch me for 90 minutes. Don't touch me, don't talk to me, don't even look at me. Hrumph.So I ate the cancellation fee and have stayed home, packing boxes. It's working. I feel better. Self care comes in many forms.

       @ken @ProPublica a bit of a cursed workaround, but perhaps you can work with the Internet Archive? Any chance they could have a special cron for scraping the birdplace more frequently? Also, A) It feels hella gross that we would have to resort to these measures to hold our elected officials - our EMPLOYEES - accountable for their wordsB) personally speaking, I am a huge fan of ProPublica and am so grateful for the work that you do.

       My mind is on my friend who is somewhere in the air on his way to Thailand, where he hopes to retrieve his dying father and bring him back to the States to die. It's such a terrible situation.
