@avalos zig self hosted compiler is way too unstable(not even feature complete yet). So if you're not really OK with LLVM for whatever reason - over zig/rust/c you're left with just C, right? So now its boiled down to "Why bother making a new language when we have C". hare is better than C in lots of different ways, better error handling, modules, and, most importantly, less C quirkiness

well, quote boost is just a minor inconvenience, I don't really care, but I just found something more horrible: "Mastodon deliberately does not support arbitrary search" https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2018/07/cage-the-mastodon/So mastodon is by design against knowledge preservation, whatever useful info we post here is going to be lost foreverAs much as I am excited about activitypub as technology and mastodon as a company making it popular I think I would rather move my blog to some acitivitypub compatible masto fork

I am a bit sad that everyone in the rust community seems excited about embracing and simplification of MSVC builds on Windows.MSVC is a very non-free, license-restricted thing. It should be treated as a very last resort option when there is no other way to build a binary for a platform. While on windows there are plenty of alternatives - msys is one of them, but doing what zig is so much better!

like, yeah, msvc is more suitable for corporate usage, I dig itbut open-source and rust community definitely made a wrong turn somewhere if we are more excited about compliance with corporate culture than the freedom(?) or beauty(?)

And I've got a little demo project I can regulary post GIFs from! Missed this a lot, I love posting gifs. It's still very far to get something usable into the public macroquad, but I am getting there!
