@zacchiroReading the open letter I was also surprised at how it focused exclusively on some issues and used very strong phrasing while also ignoring many other behaviors that don't make RMS a suitable spokesperson for any movement.

@briar #briar protects users metadata and social graph and works without servers (unlike #XMPP and #Matrix). This is really a big improvement. Thank you for developing it.

@hyperrealgopher #debian does not prohibit static linking, but it's pretty bad for security because it requires recompiling tons of software every time a dependency is patched. Instead, the package containing the binary for your application can depend other packages providing shared libraries.

@soleneman pages are good but many libraries need HTML to show charts and diagrams. #Debian encourages documentation packages and has a indexing system that tracks doc metadata. Another benefit is that packaged documentation stays in sync with the library version you are using.
