@matt Great breakdown, I didn't realize they don't offer an IMAP service. That's a problem.

@bird I hope. Many of them are legitimately depressed and suicidal. They have some legitimately solid arguments, but overall, its a downward spiral.

@danyspin97 @sehnsucht Wouldn't the 5000 character limit make it incompatible with Mastodon then?

@iiogama @danyspin97 @sehnsucht I'm not familiar with this, can you explain this to me? I wonder if its useful to have such evil forces on the Fediverse purely for the sake of the technology propagation or if its better to keep them isolated on Gab and related sites.

@danyspin97 @sehnsucht @iiogama Ahh, so there was an unjustified accusation. I see.

Neither Hushmail, Protonmail nor Fastmail send emails to #IPv6-only addresses.Major fail.

@usul Would IPv6 result in spam?

@usul If they're solving spam by blocking specific IPs, then they should just block the entire /64 or /32.

@feld I heard about IPv6 20 years ago. By this point major providers are well-past due to implement it.The option of IPv6-only should not be a question anymore

@feld hmm, I see your point, but would change change your fundamental deployment strategy?

@feld Ahh, that makes sense - one that as an end user like me.I haven't seen the changes to the protocol in quite some time. What specifically would cause issues?

@feld If its at the hardware level, I suppose that isn't common knowledge. Thank you VERY much for this insight, I figured it was purely a business decision of customers not demanding it.btw, what is bikeshed.party?

Hey @ashfurrow , I'm doing a survey of Mastodon instances and seeing what this Fediverse thing is all about. Mind explaining what your instance is all about in an elevator speech? :)

Is it considered bad in any way to have two accounts on two different Instances?
