@BrodieOnLinux It would be very understandable if this outrage was about access to the code, but it is not. Red Hat code is on CentOS Stream in its entirety. What people want is that Red Hat gives them their release cadence and how they release these packages in a plate for them to copy without doing any work.

@gnarkotics @thelinuxEXP All the code is in CentOS Stream, Red Hat is withholding nothing.

@gnarkotics @thelinuxEXP No. All #CentOSStream updates are good enough to be included in #RHEL and most of them are included. The differences are that CentOS Stream will sometimes receive earlier or even more updates (an earlier fix would be released sooner on CentOS Stream in a new package, RHEL would receive later in a later package if it is not critical in a new minor release). The difference between RHEL and CentOS Stream is not the code or features that will be included in a new release (false), but is the cadence of the update releases.

@gnarkotics @thelinuxEXP Now the clones will need to do some work comparing #RHEL releases with CentOS Stream and get the corresponding packages to make it close enough to RHEL.See that the problem is not about the code, but about some people having to do some work curating their own packages?

@charadon Knowing that I will think about using Debian for some deployments. Generally I just upgrade with some research and works fine.

@vwbusguy I would love to see SUSE becoming bigger in the enterprise space.

@Polychrome These problems with xdg-desktop-portal-* are prevalent to me when arch updates, unfortunately.Everything takes like 1min to open and I last time i needed to mask xdg-desktop-portal-gnome.

@Polychrome I think that -gnome is to be used with gnome only, mate should have its own portal too, but I think that is -gtk that they use.I had -gnome because I had GNOME and Sway installed, and -gnome had a problem that prevented portals and portals-wlr from starting.

@BrodieOnLinux What would you think if they asked about data being transmitted every time?Sometimes a window will open asking for you if you will allow the data to be transmitted, explaining about the importance to have data to make the system better. You will have the options to consent, consent always, don't consent or never consent.

@BrodieOnLinux I always laugh when I realize that Luke and Kenny are so alike in almost everything.
