@drq Still hilarious. Slightly depressing that it's almost 10 years old now.

Who would have thought that Nvidia would turn into the GPU version of Internet Explorer, implementing clearly defined APIs and standards, but shit still breaks or at least wobbles if you don't have one.

@matt Sounds like the kind of stuation where you would pick it up, say «Excuse me, you dropped something» and then throw it back into the car. 😈

@drq But seriously, it's fantastic work. As an added bonus, my version has the updated ending although I'm on the fence on if it was needed. Pixtur said the original ending was rushed so ..

@drq Yeah, I know. It looks like there is a whole bunch of text with some perspective scrolling or something on there although I fail at reading it. But like I said, I'm in the fence about it, it's grown on me slightly.Appreciate the kind words 😀

@kmj Yeah, I get it.Reading https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/maintenance/migrating_owncloud.html and elsewhere, I get the impression that PHP8 will never be supported on Owncloud, is that true? That makes it seems like a statement of "Yep, we're done. It was fun while it lasted, folks"

@drq It seems the case is that domains which was previously managed by others are now reclaimed by the rightful owners and domains just deleted. It happened with Gabon (.ga) and it seems like .ml, .ga, .cf, .gq and .tk are also on the chopping block. But I guess it is up to the Mail goverment to decide what happens to existing domains.Fingers crossed 🤞

@drq True. Although there should be a way to change the domain name of an instance. If I can inform the entire world that the instance is going getting deleted, surely it should be possible to inform about a name change as well.

@drq Yeah well, #IPv6 was supposed to fix adresses. The recommendation was that EVERY CUSTOMER was was assigned a /48 subnet, which should be enough for a household. The reason why few actually get that is a combination of stupidity, incompentence and greed. But don't get me started.

@drq Don't get me wrong, I've played with Yggdrasil and plan to get it up and running again. But they are using a small and unused part of the ipv6 address space to work. But yeah, IPv6 was designed to be top-down hierarchical because it's efficient. But failed to consider that hierarchies doesn't work when the people on top are morons.

@drq That's true, but part of the reason why IPv6 is so extremely larger than IPv4 is the efficiency. We traded "address waste" for simplified routing. Instead of checking increasingly complicated lookup tables for where to send a packet, just look at the address prefix. /64 is the minimum because of SLAAC autoconfiguration. I love the fact that I can just tell my system to make itself an unique address and it does the rest automatically. But then you also need some space for a few subnets. My Wifi router refuses to do IPv6 unless it gets to manage a /64 prefix by itself, so I have delegated it one. But this only works because my ISP assign me a bigger than /64 prefix, if it didn't then my Wifi router would break. So yeah, if you look at the current addresses I "occupy" but does not use, it's wasteful. But the address space was designed so large that we don't have to care./Rant

@drq Agreed. In face perhaps we shouldn't care. The IP space is fine for transmitting information between computers in a logical and hierarchical way, because that's how we tend to organize ourselves. But the social construct online is dynamic and sometimes arbitrary. So perhaps it makes sense to use overlays on top as the "real" address space. My point (I think) is that there is a disconnect between the way networks, geography and businesses are laid out, and the "social construct" that represents the way we use this connectivity.

@taxuswc Sorry to hear that. Is it just a particular registrar? I got the impression that Freenom was the main "caretakers" of the TLD so possibly all domans would be affected. But I'm happy to be wrong here.@drq

Does anyone have any experience with the #Wordpress Activitypub plugin? I've got some questionsFrom the docs it seems that it will only affect post from the moment the plugin is enabled. Does that mean that if I would like replies/comments on all my posts then I should revert all my published posts back to drafts, enable the plugin and then publish the posts again? Would that work? Also, do I need to turn on the comment setting on posts, or does this enable comments anyway. How does this merge with Wordpress' own commenting functionality.cc @deadsuperhero Pretty sure you have some knowledge on this
