@xenophora I hate going for an eye exam and then having the doctor try to push me to buy glasses from their associated shop so they earn a commission. I already paid $85 for the exam, get off my back, I'm not spending $200+ on frames. (And they can also bite me with the fear mongering about ordering online.)

Seriously, have you never had a piece of physical media fail on you before? Had a scratched CD that skipped tracks, but you kept it anyway? Loved a book so much pages fell out? If it isn't obvious at this point, I'm starting to get a wine bottle type philosophy when it comes to choosing beer: How good is the label? But with wine there's an assumption that spending money on graphic design is an investment in backing up the quality of drink; craft beer labels are more about catching the eye on a more level playing field taste wise. The one thing that would make e-books better for me would be a screen with a stylus for adding notes and marginalia. Typing in personal annotations is fine; but being able to draw circles, arrows, underlines, or just exclamations is so much more spontaneous and less clinical feeling.
