       I thought that too, but the point was raised to me that reporters are their reputation first, publication second. You can’t put your reputation under the thumb of your employer. There are other ways to verify on mastodon but it’s not straightforward or well surfaced to readers.

       @denebeim I’ve heard moving instances is easy, but I don’t see why an admin/boss couldn’t shut down your account before you have a chance to move. If they wanted to.

       @clive infinite paperclips, which I’ve “beaten” and know there’s no value in actually playing in the first place, but it’s like playing a resource management sim with X-ray specs… just pure number splatter
