@stux It seems that Elon Musk's motto is "Everything in moderation... ESPECIALLY moderation."

Just now I thought, Do people still blog? I mean blogging in the original sense: posting links to interesting stuff you found online.Turns out, yes they do. This blog I stumbled upon in the early 2000s and probably haven't visited in 5 years or more is still up and running: Everlasting Blort at https://blort.meepzorp.com/.

I found a dozen or so of these guys on my kitchen ceiling. Does anyone know why they're here and how I get rid of them structurally? Please boost for visibility. I'd say they're about 1cm / 1/2 inch long. I've only seen them on the ceiling so far --thankfully.

I remember learning in high school that nazism in 1930s Germany was born out of the desperation, humiliation and helplessness of the working class.I think somewhere along the way, somebody forgot the "So let's make sure that never happens again" part.

Every American I encounter on the internet: “I’ll vote for any Democratic Presidential candidate, even if they’re an inanimate object.”Also every American I encounter on the internet: “Replacing Biden at this stage in the race spells doom, he’s our best chance to win!”

@futurebird I wonder why relatable, attractive young female Trump fans are not willing to represent themselves as such to male Trump fans. I wonder why, but I also have my suspicions.

I heard this term mentioned by one of the hosts of the excellent "If Books Could Kill" podcast (when talking about Sam Bankman-Fried, who's like the quintessential case of this), and my god does it clearly define something I've been needing a term for since forever. This phenomenon explains like half of what's wrong with the world today.

Finished Aesop's Fables, which I'd never read cover to cover before. Fun to see how many present-day expressions have their origin in one of the tales from this book. Some "morals" of the tales are painfully dated, like "The safety of slavery is preferable to the danger of freedom." Still, foundational literature that's still fun to read. My favorite fable is a meta-fable, this one: http://www.mythfolklore.net/aesopica/oxford/1.htm#BookReview #Aesop #ClassicalLiterature

@thomas_klopf Let's just say that Dibernardo has been sitting on my couch since this morning, with a stupid grin on his face and a vacant stare, saying "Look at the colors, man..."
