If you look into the history of Tesla and SpaceX you'll realize Musk would have gone broke years ago without government money.I've never met a libertarian who didn't decry government subsidies as socialism, encouraging freeloaders, and feeding the nanny State. @tek @gruber Just finished Season 3. It's picking up the pace - gotta love Lamb's McGyver methods to attack and defend (and I'm not talking about pugnacious farts). So old school. I will say the main gun battle was kinda silly and unbelievable - so many incompetent muppets working for M15 it looked like amateur hour! But hey still a great show.And I had no idea this was based on a series of books - good to know there's several more to get material from.

@interfluidity I know it is not your point but given that what, 25% of Americans have $0 in savings or less - net of their home value if they have one (usually unlikely at that end of the scale) it's actually pretty good that more than 70% think their personal finances are "at least okay".I assume the point you're making is people think the local and national economy is much worse under Biden (Fox-washed thinking) but their own situation is about they same?

@interfluidity But if we take their subjective opinion into consideration the majority - over 2/3rds - think they are doing at least okay. The discontent doesn't seem to jibe with their own assessment of the economy as a whole. It starts to sound like when 8 out of 10 men claim they are above average drivers. While it's technically possible, statistically it's unlikely. Also if the % saying they are worse of under Biden almost tripled why did the "a least okay" percent barely move?

@interfluidity agreed - I did eventually make that point. As Dr House say "everybody lies" which is why we should use objective measures. Also while apparently 3/4 of Americans have traveled to another country (probably biased by a lot of Canada and Mexico side trips) I'm guessing very few who were born here have ever lived in another country. So very few have any idea of our living standards and quality of life relative to other countries - other than what they are told to believe "USA #1!"
