@sima That's very true, but sometimes I find myself stuck in a corner because some bad architecture has been merged, is blocking everything and is tricky to get rid of. I suppose there's a balance.

I wish there was a shell language which is simple, robust and has a spec with multiple implementations

A Sway user has used the term "RSOD" to describe the red screen which appears when the lock screen (not swaylock, another one) crashes.Definitely should've made that blue instead.

Good API design is so difficult. In a sense, implementing a new feature in wlroots is harder than doing it in other compositors, because you need to design a nice API which is easy to use, flexible enough to accommodate most wlroots-based compositors, but doesn't get in the way if you want to roll your own solution.

So, a few dozen days ago I made this:https://git.sr.ht/~emersion/go-sqlgenAnd I'm still wondering whether it's a good idea or not. The upsides are syntax highlighting, strongly typed arguments (not yet implemented). The downside is that the SQL you're using is no longer right next to the Go code.

@ploum This blog post misses the point. No one is arguing that copyleft is wrong. Drew's post criticizes the FSF, not copyleft. See also: https://drewdevault.com/2023/06/19/Reforming-the-free-software-message.html
