The week of random shou minis is drawing to a close with 2020 "prosbloom" from White2Tea. Tip for gong fu brewing tightly compressed minis: rinse them a couple times in the pot (or gaiwan) with water at the appropriate temp, put the lid on the pot, and let them steam closed for 5-10 minutes. Wow, White2Tea's 2021 "Blood Moon" has really furry leaves... Wait a sec, "Moon Bear", "Blood Moon"?! "Moon Bear" "white" raw puerh tea also had similar furry buds... I suspect this is similar material processed as a shade dried white. I did hear back from White2tea about "Blood Moon" and they said this tea is similar, ("I guess,") material to that used for "Moon Bear", but from a completely different region in Yunnan. @tea

2020 Astro Red was a Black tea made from the same spring yunnan maocha blend as White2Tea used for their 2020 Astro Kittens Raw Puerh. About Astro Red, White2Tea said, "The tea has an intense brothy bitterness and feelings that will overwhelm all but the grizzled veterans among you. I often say while Ripe Puerh and Raw Puerh start very different, over time they become similar. A good example is this 2002 "Golden Leaf Shu Pu'Er" from Verdant teas. @aral That's fine, but let's not let Republicans and their control of the budget and military spending, off the hook. Ultimately it is Congress who passes the budget, not the president or Admin in power. And it has been Republicans who have been adamant in their support of the Israeli government, more cracks on the Democrat side. At least Democrats have Barbara Lee.

@futurebird I quit drinking a few years ago and am pleased about the expansion of NA options in the last few years. Both NA beer and wine are getting better as are the options other than Big Soda. Personally, I just wish there were more bittersweet aperitif options, NA aperitifs similar to Aperol and Campari Spritz in the US, but I realize it is a bit of a nice market. St Agrestis' Phony Negroni is about the only one, even though there are quite a few available in Italy that aren't imported.

@futurebird Re: Kettle for Tea. I keep trying to decide why I feel like there is some small difference in water boiled stovetop and water boiled in electric kettle for certain types of tea. Cos the stovetop is slower, are a greater portion of the water molecules vibrating closer to boiling? Am I imagining it? @MxVerda @benh

2024 Spring Yunnan Baicha Fuzhuan is another unusual hybrid tea from White2Tea, Yunnan white tea sent to be Hunan to be processed as "jingua heicha" or "fu bricks". You can already see “golden flowers,” (Eurotium cristatum), in the dry tea. Slight fennel-fruity character in the flavor, thick bodied tea. How will it age? Who knows?#tea #Cha #White2Tea @tea
