@Npars01 @Waterloo2 This doesn't pass the smell test. Evangelicals who justify corporeal punishment? Ok, you can find them. But "punishing children until they obey, even unto death"? If you can find "evangelicals" who believe this it is EXCEEDINGLY few, and would be deemed an actual cult way outside the mainstream of American evangelicalism.Argue against real issues, not straw men.

@Npars01 @kevinrns @Waterloo2 I mean, I'd still be reading if I tried to read them all!I'm not saying there's no such thing as abuse and murder among evangelical Christians (as there is among all types of people). If you're indeed responding to the extreme interpretation of male headship used by a few Christians (so-called) that justify abuse, then I'm more in agreement with you than not.1/2

@Npars01 @kevinrns @Waterloo2 But I still maintain that "punishing children until they obey, even unto death" is not at all accepted by the vast majority of Christians, including evangelical Christians.The Wikipedia article you linked states this as well: "Christian groups and authorities generally condemn domestic violence as inconsistent with the general Christian duty to love others and to the scriptural relationship between husband and wife."2/2
