We don't have any #IPv6 configured for most of our stuff and services at work. And I get why, you have to set up IPv4, and after that... it just works. There's no practical upside at all to setting up IPv6 after that except for that warm fuzzy feeling that you have contributed to improving the internet. It's not like you could get rid of IPv4 after setting up v6.When I find the time I'll go through our services and set up v6, because... it's the right thing to do, I guess? Still, it's pretty clear that we will never be able to get rid of dual stack as long as setting up IPv6 is an investment without returns.Maybe browsers punishing missing IPv6 compatibility with scary warning could do the trick like it did for HTTPS?Or maybe we should just admit that IPv4 is here to stay and finally give up on IPv6 because everybody needs and always will need IPv4 anyway...?

@rodhilton Well, big providers like GMail do like putting small email servers on blocklists for intransparent reasons without being responsive to appeals...Also, not defederating at all isn't really an option either considering there are a lot of nazi, pedo and spam instances out there bent on harrassing people.

New blog post! Follow me on my journey down the rabbit hole of yet again installing #NixOS on a #RaspberryPi! This time using some hybrid MBR black magic to get a vanilla NixOS installation with systemd-boot to run with the MBR-only RPi 3 on-board bootloader.This is also my first post to feature my new characters (an idea that was more than a little inspired by @cadey and @fasterthanlime). The first of my web services is now running as #NixOS native module instead of in Docker: my #HedgeDoc instance. I still use Traefik as front router / reverse proxy, which I moved from Docker to NixOS as well, so it can still discover the config of the services still in Docker, and route the new NixOS-native services. Not sure whether I'll stay with Traefik once I've migrated everything, it seems somewhat overkill for my needs any can't proxy unix sockets. A cool #nix / #nixpkgs / #NixOS thing: I wanted a fix for a bug in #rofi that wasn't yet in any release. So I generated a patch from the commit with the fix with git format-patch -1, and then added that patch file to my rofi package with overrideAttrs. I must remind everyone how vitally important it is that you do not use Sci-Hub to freely access scientific works. It would surely make science publishers such as Elsevier very sad. God forbid they go out of business!You should probably put Sci-Hub's domains, such as https://sci-hub.se or https://sci-hub.st, on a blocklist so you can't accidentally use it.
