@futurebird - This is part of the argument we made to the Dept. of State: sex or gender, by any definition, are irrelevant to entitlement for a passport. It;s like race, which used to be on passport applications, but rightfully is no longer.https://papersplease.org/wp/2025/03/12/state-department-puts-x-passport-applicants-in-limbo/

The latest from Rebecca Solnit on the need for truth-telling by the media (including ourselves, as she's been doing in such an exemplary way): "We're hungry for truth during this pandemic of lies. This is part of why small media--podcasts, newsletters like Heather's--are thriving and doing a superb job while mainstream media is declining...."https://www.meditationsinanemergency.com/stupid-coup-month-three-two-plus-two-is-still-four

Paul Revere and the Minutemen, 250 years later:"We don’t have to let the concept of the Minutemen as a self-organized militia be commandeered by American fascists. We don’t have to take up the gun to take inspiration from the myth of the Minutemen. There is value in being able to see ourselves as being in a tradition of community organizing, community resistance, and community defense against attacks on those the state targets as most vulnerable or most troublesome." https://hasbrouck.org/blog/archives/002782.html

"On the morning of Wednesday, April 23, FBI and local police raided the homes of pro-Palestine activists across three cities in Michigan: Canton, Ann Arbor, and Ypsilanti. What they had in common were they were supporters of Palestine and often attended protests. At least one is a graduate student...."https://stopfbi.org/news/committee-to-stop-fbi-repression-condemns-fbi-police-raids-on-michigan-pro-palestine-activists/

@Nonilex - Police/ICE want us to prove who we are, but provide no way we can authenticate them. People cosplaying as thugs should be presumed armed and dangerous. Call 911 if you spot them, and report dangerous gangs in the streets. Any home invader or kidnapper can stencil "POLICE" on their armor.

@Nonilex - I disagree that they "appear to be law enforcement officers". Nothing in their appearance would provide sufficient evidence of their being law enforcement officers for anyone to be legally obligated to obey their orders. They appear to be masked thugs. Some such people are also law enforcement officers. Some aren't. People aren't legally obligated to assume that all masked thugs are cops. Look what just happened in Minn. with killer cosplaying as cop.

@Yuvalne - The Internet Archive never lent books. They made and distributed an unlimited number of unrestricted copies of each book, with a public URL for a scanned image of each page of each book: https://nwu.org/what-is-the-internet-archive-doing-with-our-books/

@Nonilex - First it was murder on the high seas, then war crimes ordered by "Take No Prisoners Pete" Hegseth. Now it's piracy.
