Oh my giddy Aunt. I just watched this video about the new GNU Hyperbole mode for GNU Emacs, and what can I say? ... watch it! My head is still spinning from all the possibilities.The video is an introduction to Hyperbole (there's a whole series of videos apparently), mostly showing examples in org-mode, but it is a minor mode that can be used in any text file.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrTpTNEXMyY#emacs #org #orgmode

@mitchmarq42xyz I can't help thinking that you're highlighting a problem that doesn't really exist. As users, people will talk/write/post about GNU Emacs; people will decide for themselves what they use. I also see no issue with extolling GNU Emacs over non-free software for heavy users of editing type programmes.For me, the only place I'd really get "evangelical" is over free software. So, yes, I do "push" free software and make no apologies about that.

@galdor I recently read one blogger (I forget where) who stated that GNU Emacs was dated and not good software because it had not kept up with Moore's Law. 🙄 What can you do, other than shake your head and move on.#emacs

@EU_Commission Well over 5,000 children have been murdered by Israeli shells, rockets and bombs. Thousands upon thousands murdered in massacre after massacre. Even a fleet of ambulances evacuating patients deliberately targetted. Whole neighbourhoods flattened with the bodies of the residents beneath.... and all the EU commission can bring itself to say is "humanitarian crisis." Utter shame upon the EU for their complicity, and their role in arming Israel. Words hardly suffice.

@10leej I try to avoid typing anything into my phone, so I keep a small Moleskine (just because they don't fall to bits) notebook with me where I can make quick notes and ten add them to Emacs when convenient. I use Syncthing to sync all kinds of stuff between tablets, phone and computers including org files that are used by Orgzly (revived) on my phone/tablets to show me my notes, todos, agenda, calendar etc.

@10leej Interesting, I suppose it depends upon many different variables, but I've not had that issue. I also run a Syncthing instance on a remote server (encrypted) that acts a as a sort of always-on bridge between the devices that are also linked to one another.

@yogthos Yesterday Lindsey Graham was bloviating about how he'd destroy our (Britain's) economy if we dared to arrest Netanyahu or Gallant; as Starmer commented would be the case if they came to Britain.I'd like to see him try.Also, since when were Netanyahu and Gallant US Service members?
