@kairyssdal Question - does a 20mm canon round detonate when hitting the water from that altitude? Can a sidewinder be remote detonated if if fails to hit? Not having live rounds down range would seem to be a good idea but all beyond my skillset.

Just watched the teaser episode of The Last of Us. Looks like a well done zombie movie but not worth subscribing to HBO. Still brings up my ever present question about apocalypse movies. Where are the bikes? The show posits a life 20 years after collapse but with gas for HumVees.

@peter @twowheelsdc I still think Road Warrior would have been way better with everyone riding hacked fixies and cargo bikes. The commodities everyone would be coveting could be lithium for batteries and silicon for solar panels.

@peter @twowheelsdc More to the point it would have been an excellent opportunity for the writers to work up a scenario that points out the 'magic' of hydrocarbons and what life will be like without it. Look for the 1930s movie " Things to Come" for a take on post hydrocarbon life mixed in with it's anti war message. Verisimilitude has qualities all it's own in story telling.
