Very frustrated that the indie board/card game crowd has centred on blewski. I’ve gotten some of them to enable bridging by reaching out directly, but that’s a pretty big ask from a stranger. Here’s my hot take about bicycling in the rain, after having lived and biked in several places stereotyped for how rainy they are: It doesn’t actually rain as much as you think it does. Days on which it rains does not necessarily mean that it will be raining when you have to travel.Absolutely you might end up riding in the rain and it’s good to be prepared for that, but just because it’s a rainy day does not mean it will happen to be raining right when you’re riding, at least in many climates.

I never liked the cutting part of pocketmod, and I just realized you can just do this instead. It reads like a book for 1-6 and then you read like a book from the “back” cover (6) to read 7 and 8. Very natural and no cutting. #pocketmod

Board games have this thing called a “math trade” where everyone lists games they want to get rid of and choose which games they would be willing to trade those games for. Then an algorithm crunches it all and figures out a many-party trade. It’s a great system as long as you don’t have bad actors. Anyone else just not really “get” fandom? I feel like our entire society is about fandom, fandom for sports, fandom for media properties, fandom fandom fandom. And whatever it is that makes a person a fan, I don’t have much of it. A little bit, sometimes, but not enough to feel like I can understand and participate in our culture.

the yearly search for new-to-me Halloween music. Harder than Christmas music, for sure. I need Halloween music to be thematically Halloween and to *sound* Halloween-y (Thriller fails this test, for example), all while being music I still want to listen to. …I have historically not had a tremendous amount of success.
