@Suiseiseki the problem is all the devices that still do v4 only. Even if you get a v6 address everywhere, half of all devices can not use it. So you need v4 on the net to be reachable. And because you’re reachable via v4 nobody seems to care to fix their v6

@killyourfm @nextcloud @RyunoKi no problem i think. Nextcloud primarily uses bandwidth when used, there’s basically nothing going on in the background

I just did a thing. I added new command to mastodon's tootctl to remove old avatar images and header graphics. There's an "undo" command as well if you run into problems.Just tried it on my instance and it did remove some files indeed.#fediadmin #tootctl #mastodon

If you want to beta-test this:https://github.com/dunkelstern/mastodon/tree/j.schriewer/9567-implement-profile-media-prune-commandBe aware, I tested the script on my instance where everything worked as it should. I am not responsible for broken stuff!

@a it uses act, which basically is a re-implementation of github actions and aims to be fully compatible to github. I see that as a positive thing :)

@effy adding some technical context:gangstalking has two DNS-A records here, and two IPv6 AAAA records:104.21.80.126172.67.181.16(which are all cloudflare now, so a block will lead to nothing sadly. The exit node will change)ryona is not behind cloudflare, so IP blocking will work, but also add the IPv6 address to be sure:2605:6400:10:1fe:dead:babe:b00b:cafeThe last ip (138.37.89.34) is from "Queen Mary University of London", they have an abuse email address: netabuse@qmul.ac.uk

Network debugging time: Have a #Homepod or a recent AppleTV? Have a #Fritzbox? Go into your router settings and enable "Allow other #IPv6 Routers on the Network". Thank me later... Without that setting the Devices create a secondary ULA Prefix to allow Matter routing. In reality the two devices are in an unending fight. Homepod advertises Route to Matter devices, Fritzbox cancels, Homepod switches to ULA Prefix RA, Fritzbox cancels, and so on. Leads to unstable secondary #ULA Addresses...

Ok it gets even better... The Router Advertisements for the Thread ULA are set to be valid for 1800 seconds but the apple devices miss the refresh, so without the FritzBox canceling the advertisements the ULA stays online for 1800 seconds and then times out, so all devices loose the prefix until the dang Homepod decides to re-advertise. Oh man did noone test this? (This interferes for example with Cisco AnyConnect VPN, which cancels all connections when the device gets or looses a new IP)

Best thing on that Silverblue/Kinoite distro: Toolbox, so i can have atomic updates and read only image based OS with near perfect Flatpak integration and have my dev environment on for example Archlinux in a toolbox container without destroying my system when something goes wrong inside that container. Now I need a tool to set up those containers automatically in a configurable way like NixOS did (could use ansible, a Dockerfile or a simple shell script...). Does anyone do that already?

@foone If you want to be stunned though look into what a gerber file defines and how that production process used to happen. Hint: It defines apertures for a moving UV light ;)

@futurebird i think a relatively good summary can be found on wikipedia under the keyword HRTF (Head related transfer function) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head-related_transfer_function it gets technical very fast but i think if you ignore the math and just want to understand what is done to create 3D sound and how it is modeled that’s a good summary. If you’re firm with stuff like Fourier Transforms etc. that helps a bit.

@BrodieOnLinux the weirdest thing beneath the owner is the default config for the laptops in the shop: 8TB M.2 SSD and thus all laptops over 3k dollars

@BrodieOnLinux the best thing on c is that the plugs are the part that gets loose not ever the sockets. So if a connection becomes shaky just replace the cable. I cannot begin to count how many a sockets i had to bend the retaining pins back into shape or on how many micro sockets that little tab broke off. Mini was always loose from factory and i don’t know what they thought the b plugs would accomplish…

Opinion: every power supply should have its capabilities printed in big letters on the front. Stop it with dark gray or yellowish laser engraved text on black devices or light gray on white in 4pt font size (looking at you apple!). I am fully for the “Dharma Initiative Powerbank 60W” labeling. That would avoid so many headaches and you could compare the things so much easier.
