For the period of August 8-14, we have clear detections in Schwyz on August 13, 14, and 15; clear detection in Luzern on August 12; less distinct detection in Chur on August 13. There is a suspicion of detection in Basel on August 10. No detection in Laupen after August 5 and 6. For a representation of the basin that drains into these wastewater treatment plants, please refer to the map of that sister project:https://www.covid19.admin.ch/en/epidemiologic/waste-water…

We have also looked at mutations specific for sub-clades, but :- DK/UK clade: we don't find convincing evidence, but the signature mutations of this clade do not give us a very specific local haplotype to look for.- US/IL clade: we don't find evidence for the presence of US/IL sub-clade in our dataset- JP clade: cannot be investigated through combinations of mutations on the same amplicon.…

The analysis was performed using our SIB Software Resource #Vpipe - the #NGS #bioinformatics pipeline tool for virus #sequencing. Detection handled by the component COJAC.More details on our project and procedure available at https://cov-spectrum.org/stories/wastewater-in-switzerland and at https://github.com/cbg-ethz/cowwid …#opensource#snakemake

Official upload of the raw data to ENA’s SRA is still a couple of weeks away. In the meantime, we will update shortly our shared folder containing compressed raw reads: https://polybox.ethz.ch/index.php/s/NHFcTLX412pjgg9Update: this week's batch is now available on the polybox link.…#FAIR#OpenScience#reproducibility

This data has been obtained through the effort of the WISE consortium - Wastewater Infectious diseases Surveillance and Epidemiology - a collaboration between the ETH Zürich groups CBG and cEvo, the EAWAG, and the FGCZ ( @CatharineAquino ); supported by the @snsf_ch and the BAG/FOPHThank you for your attention!

@tomjennings @clayfoot @purrperl @pluralistic @afx @evdelen @lizardbillOn the other side of the iron curtain, late ~60s:my mom went to study nuclear physics, got to do a lot of numerical analysis, thus got to run computations on the university's first mainframe, and thus got to write her own program (initially in machine code because not trusting those new fangled high level languages) but then eventually in FORTAN.BUT...

@tomjennings @clayfoot @purrperl @pluralistic @afx @evdelen @lizardbill ... she also got to punch her own cards, because not trusting the card punchers students.By the late 70s shes had abandonned her PhD and fully moved to consulting in-and giving lectures in- computer science.(and, as it was the best air conditionned room in the computing building, napping in the CPU room on a nest built out of discarded printputs while prengant with me.)...

@tomjennings @clayfoot @purrperl @pluralistic @afx @evdelen @lizardbill ...(I came that close of being born inside a mainframe. Or as I tell: I'm 46 years old, but been around computers for 47 years). She and her late sister (a professor in Biology) have been inspirations for my own carreer.

@argv_minus_one @fcalva Hi, old timer who wrote my own keyboard driver in assembler for a DOS game engine:- technically, yes: the PS/2 mini DIN port and the older AT DIN port don't have an IRQ line themselves, they are merely some type of bidirectionnal serial.BUT- They talk to a keyboard controller at the other end of this serial connection (used to be an Intel 8042 micro controller), and that absolutely DOES fire IRQ 2 whenever there's data from the keyboard.

@argv_minus_one @fcalva so PS/2 do have an IRQ (2), it's just not handled by the keyboard (as you pointed out) but by a microcontroller on the motherboard.(and the PS/2 protocol natively supports N-key rollover. Another advantage over USB)

@foone I would guess that the desktop gets a normal 24bit framebuffer, but for mostly DRM reasons (and a bit of hw acceleration reasons), played videos aren't rendered into the framebuffer, but composited on-the-fly while generating the HDCP-encrypted video output.(think a bit like on the old discrete PCI video accelerstors with VGA pass trough cables like DXR3, Hollywood+, etc.)...

@JessTheUnstill Good metaphor as there is also a whole spectrum there too: between "I am helping a megacorp to abuse underage slaves in some south east asian country and get rich in the process" and "I am making my own clothes, from scratch. Threading my own wool. Shaven straight from the sheep that lives on my balcony".(e.g.: repairs, reuse and modify, thrift, shop from local makers, etc...)

@robinfarrell @aral ...and that's assuming that the nukes are still functional. It's a highly technical weapon. And once you start to try restricting higher education to rich white failsons, try to cut funding to universities, and in general wage a "war on education", I am not sure how long you'll be able to have the necessary highly skilled workforce to keep the nukes functional.
