       @bfdi Umfasst das Gesetz auch #greenwashing durch #digitalzwang? Z.B. wenn eine Dienstleistung zwar oberflaechlich betrachtet einen klimafreundlichen Effekt haette, aber die Nutzung bestimmter #bigtech-Plattformen mit unklarem Klimafussabdruck zur Voraussetzung fuer die Nutzung gemacht wird.

       Is it somehow possible to obtain a #DOI on #Zenodo for a Git repository that is not hosted on #GitHub? Or is there a similar service for obtaining a #DOI for Git repositories, e.g. on @Codeberg?No doubt this would be useful because not everyone wants their Git commits to serve as #AI training data.#boost #askfedi #openscience

       @slashdot Well, it's always important to look at the context, e.g. _who_ writes such recommendations. For an organization like the #NSA, it is often useful to be able to replace a proven piece of software with another one it has more control over. Since it's hard to convince anyone to allow this (never change a running system...), it's very tempting to just say: "We have to rewrite everything in #Rust for #SecurityReasons, neglecting all kinds of other safety considerations." While #Rust is definitely promising technology, it's good that someone stood up to debunk that "Writing in #Rust will magically make all your code safe" myth. Switching away from #CPlusPlus will not make your code any better. Learning about code safety will.

       Sehr zukunftsweisend: Das Tschechische staatliche Filmarchiv hat eine eigene Instanz auf #PeerTube: https://portal.digilab.nfa.cz/about/instance - Da koennten sich staatlich betriebene Einrichtungen in Deutschland auch eine Scheibe davon abschneiden, statt alle Video-Inhalte auf zentralisierten, werbelastigen US-Portalen abzulegen...
