@skypagewow, I haven’t seen any interest in these for over 10 years. I got a pendant ocarina when I was in high school

@ulintlAlso one of my recent favorites, and it's surprisingly thoughtful and philosophical. I nearly dismissed before it aired, but I'm glad I gave it a chance

@LinuxReviewsHave you looked at Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart? It's a FOSS fan game I can't stop praising even a year after I started playing

@anjum and librarians are sometimes better than searching online, you sometimes get free online benefits with a library card, and easy to forget about downloaded books versus hard copies

@BrodieOnLinux people like to link Pleroma more to crazy people and fringe opinions, which is a shame because it's very lightweight and well made software

@anjum I think it's interesting that we've come to expect a chat program to include voice, video, all kinds of embedded media, and even streaming, payment processing, premium features, ad nauseaman online community could be connected to a small VPS through XMPP and Mumble or Jitsi and whatever else they might need on top of that

@jfera I'm running my own server, I still have to activate some modules but it's perfectly functional for now. my VPS is absolutely tiny and I can't tell it's running Prosody at all. Totally recommended. I tried running a Matrix server (Dendrite) and it was extremely heavy, not good for self-hosting at all

@BrodieOnLinux In nvidia-settings in the options for your monitors, enable advanced settings and check the two boxes labeled something like Full Composition Pipeline. I think you have to run it as root and make sure you save to your xorg.conf from the GUI. this is what removed tearing for me

@BrodieOnLinux I had a Pebble Steel originally and I loved the look of it. The buttons malfunctioned, so I eventually bought a Pebble Time Steel from eBay and I didn't really like the way it looked, but it worked well. I always prefer a more angular digital watch. I just switched to wearing a nerdy Casio after a while

@BrodieOnLinux that's common to most open sourced commercial games and de/recompilations of old console games. you usually need the source assets that are still under copyright. In the case of Doom, Freedoom replaces all the commercial assets with free audio/visuals and levels, and some games release everything, like Ur-Quan Masters (Star Control II)

@BrodieOnLinux @YaLTeR @thelinuxcast in my experience, I haven't personally noticed any issues with Xwayland-satellite, unless capturing the mouse in certain windowed games is a problem it has. everything else feels exactly as it should. I'm curious about where the difference is

@BrodieOnLinux niri just looked too cool, so I had to try it and just ended up switching from dwm. everything I need is implemented. I also have a touchscreen laptop with Plasma Wayland on it, which handles touch controls better than X. I read that niri also has touchscreen controls, so I want to try it there too.

@BrodieOnLinux I use niri's environment variables settings to change the cursor theme so I can see it change live and it'll stay consistent. I also do this with the GTK and QT themes, though I don't know how to make those change live
