Now, to me, that raises lots of questions about what I'm calling content sovereignty—that is, a user is the boss of what they post. Users should be able to opt out of *their own content* being shared in other people's collections in this way, just as they should be able to opt out of comments etc. This means that if you use #Pinetta and opt out of sharing for all your posts, another Pinetta user won't be able to share it; ideally boosts/AP announce from elsewhere will be disallowed as well.

I don't know what others think, but I feel as though this concept of content sovereignty is a useful step towards setting boundaries for healthy online interactions and relationships. It certainly does put a damper on certain types of social media interactions (for example, Black Twitter's use of quote tweets could be hampered if the OP disallows shares). But at the same time, I feel like it mirrors moral structures that many of us would like to see in the world.What do you think #Fedi?

Spent a few minutes playing some old Mac games to celebrate(?) #Marchintosh:https://diode.zone/videos/watch/345c7937-b89d-4fbb-9a7c-7f8ecb9ec720It's been a while since I've streamed anything, but I've definitely been using the Mac more. Started using #HyperCard a lot more lately, as I'm finding that designing custom-made stacks really seems to help me organize my thoughts.

Spent a little time reading up on #XMPP, and I realized that I used to use it for a while, way back when. I remember feeling annoyed that I couldn't have all of my contacts active in one app, and was impressed that #Jabber app, besides providing their own protocol, could act as a bridge to those other apps as well.As far as I can remember, I think it was the apps' stale #UI and relatively poorer feature set that made me give them up eventually. Would be nice to see if that's changed since.

Just some idle thoughts about #blocklists: While they're definitely useful to weed out the most undesirable social traffic (harrassment, scraping and such), their centralized nature is a disadvantage in that it reintroduces centralization.I wonder if there could be something similar to DNS, but that would look up weights assigned to certain servers to figure out whether they're widely blocked or not, and by who, to determine a sort of graph of trust 🤔 Somebody's probably working on that tbh.
