@volpeon@is-a.wyvern.rip might try sending a raw "HELP CMODE" or "HELP UMODE" to the server using /quote or something similar. On most ircds there's documentation embedded (it's just not always easy to find)

@volpeon@is-a.wyvern.rip Off the top of my head I would say some of those umodes are not available for you to set, either because they're OPER only or SERVER/SERVICES only (eg: +R is usually a registered user flag set by NickServ)

@volpeon@is-a.wyvern.rip as far as I can tell most usermodes go un-used except by opers or those looking to develop the software tbh. most users I've seen will skip over most umodes. chanmodes are far more used and useful.

@volpeon@is-a.wyvern.rip I've seen very few IRCd implementations with colliding umodes, maybe you could hard-code the main/most-common ones and just show a 'more...' type thing with unrecognized modes?

@stux@mstdn.social @Shadedlady@mstdn.social One trick I used to use for narration is to record yourself explaining it to your pet/partner/plant. That way you have something to relate and react to that you're already comfortable with and the audience is just a third party listener.
