@ParadeGrotesque One reason I didn't report it immediately is it didn't annoy me — I use Arduinos (well, clones 😆 ) and it was of interest to me.But I'm concerned about having a strict NO ADVERTISING policy and then saying "well, this advertising is okay". I see that as leading to a chaotic situation and accusations of unfairness.I've also seen someone promoting their kickstarter, again not something that annoyed me but seems like a policy violation.Wondering how tenable the policy is.

@ParadeGrotesque For that matter... is the strict NO ADVERTISING policy a fediverse-wide thing or is it a per instance thing? Is there even such a policy in effect on this instance? All the about page says in Mastodon Covenant which does not seem to mention advertising.

@razorbeamz OR NOT. I just checked, the icon DID go to the blue "following" icon when I did it, but now is back to "pending" on (I guess) all of them. So yeah, something's messed up.

@SDF @razorbeamz That *appeared* to work, the button went from "Withdraw" to "Unfollow". But if I go to settings and look at my follow/followers list I see them following me but not me following them, and I'm not seeing them in my home timeline. And then if I go back to their profile it says "Withdraw" again. So no, it does not work for me.

@SDFI now have unsuccessful follow requests to at least 15 accounts on remote servers made from >12 hours (up to a few days) ago, as well as at least 1 follow request made from a remote server to this account 20 hours ago that has not been seen here. Withdraw and re-follow has not worked.A few other recent remote follows have succeeded.Problem appears to be on incoming rather than outgoing end.

@Iwasbeingnice @SDF What we* are seeing appears to be an actual bug or misconfiguration, not just a matter of things are slow because of new users. Some of these "pending" follow requests are days old.*I'm not the only one seeing this problem

@Iwasbeingnice @SDF @sjc particularly since the follow requests ARE BEING SEEN and acted upon immediately at the remote server, but the transaction is NOT BEING COMPLETED at the SDF end.

@SDF @Iwasbeingnice @sjc Update: Both account follows succeeded within minutes from the other server. Both have been pending for more than 24 hours from SDF.
