@lauren it confirms that the platform has the capacity, that intended suppression is in general indistinguishable from the algorithm, and that it’s been used to suppress content at the request of the Chinese government.Given that none of these capabilities have been eliminated from the system, I fail to see how a few years is irrelevant.What should we do, wait until we confirm that TikTok flips a US election before we worry?

Wife brought Covid home from a work event. We had to cancel our long weekend away, our Flaming Lips concert, beers with friends, and I will have to reschedule my cancer surveillance MRI that was supposed to be Friday.Also I feel physically awful.

@futurebird for a number of years, when my kids were at their littlest, my only writing time was on the bus. I had a small laptop (11” Air) and a pair of noise canceling headphones. Which were a critical part of the thing! And gave me an excuse for story-specific playlists, which could help snap my brain into storyspace faster.
