If you think of free software as a developers' rights issue, it's a solved problem. Developers can use free stacks everywhere, and they are free to fix anything. Nobody is legally restricted from learning to be a developer. There's a pretty good live ecosystem. Mission accomplished.If you think of free software as a human rights issue, you need to think about how all people can actually use and benefit, and usability and accessibility and localisation all become integral parts of the problem.

Woman in Tyumen, Russia has won her court case (charged with "discrediting the military") on the basis that her chalk on the pavement saying "нет в***е" (usually understood as a censored "нет войне", "no to war") was actually "нет вобле" ("no to the Caspian Roach", a species of fish). Watched Matilda: the book: the musical: the film and general enjoyed it, but it was really dissonant seeing gentle Miss Honey being played by Lashana Lynch who I had only previously seen as the younger, cooler, 007 threatening to kneecap Daniel Craig. Speaks well of her as an actor though.

Welp, Matilda has become an obsession for these kids. 3yo has done a reasonable job of learning the words to "Naughty", including "inevitable" so that should confuse the nursery staff.

There are a few places that rudely steal generic names. Working in the City. Living in the Bay area. Based in the Valley. Or the West Coast*.Probably the most egocentric is the Land of the Rising Sun (unlike those other lands where it doesn't).* I am based on the West Coast, but not that one, which confuses people I work with
